A month. It's been nearly a month since I last posted. Gracious.
It's been a rough month in a lot of ways but a few updatable facts on my life:
I LOVE LATIN. Love love love. Though the way we're learning it is, as my professor says, like drinking from a fire hose, I am keeping up and enjoying it enormously. In fact, after I write this post I will be off to write a prose composition in Latin and then learn six ways to conjugate the third and fourth conjugations, which is the sort of mechanical thing hated by most of the universe and enjoyed by me.
My thesis proposal goes to the department on Friday. Right now I am waiting on my advisor to send back more edits. Nervous nervous nervous.
Creative writing is fun; though I'm not sure how much I'm getting out of the learn-to-write bits of it, it's nice to have an excuse to write an entire short story every week.
Living off campus with Eleanor and Cassandra is wonderful.
Last but not least:
As per the norm on this particular workshop blog, what I want most in the whole world right now is four yards of some pretty fabric and my sewing machine, because yesterday in class I plotted a pattern for a winter dress in my notebook, and I want to make it.
So if someone has a teleporter, four yards of fabric, and a sewing machine, send them my way.
Thank you.
